Community Trade and Classifieds / FREE IT spinner luggage
« on: November 04, 2018, 08:27:57 AM »
I'm giving away a black carry-on size spinner luggage by IT (this brand makes the world's lightest luggage - I think this one is about 2 lbs empty).  I'm letting it go b/c the handle wobbles - not that it's in danger of coming off - it's just annoying.  If interested, please contact me here and I will get back to you for a pick-up time.

« on: July 09, 2017, 11:17:35 AM »
This is a great navy blue rendition of the constellations on metal – very detailed and well-done. It is 18×18 and has holes in the corners for hanging. The blurring in the corner you see in the second pic is from my camera doing its thing. All the details are on the piece are sharp.  Price is firm.

Hi folks,
Hoping you could help with some recommendations here.  I am on the design committee of my very large co-op building and I am looking for recommendations for painting contractors who have experience doing lobbies and hallways at a large scale (my building has over 100 units).  I am seeking recommendations only from folks who live in their co-ops and either are on the board or have knowledge of the painting contractor that was used for their building.  Please recommend only contractors that you believe did a quality job - our previous contractor did not use durable paint so we are living with the consequences after just a few years...
Thanks so much!

After work today I caught a guy positioned underneath the stairwell at 74th St looking up through the metal mesh at all the people coming down.  While I was waiting at the bottom of the stairs for my husband, I stared at the guy for a good minute - he kept deliberately looking up as people came down, so definitely a peeper.  Then he saw me and I gave him the evil eye.  That didn't faze him and he went back to peeping.  Be forewarned!  I've also seen this happen at the E/F/R platform where the stairs have the metal mesh inserts.

Neighborhood Chat / What do you pay for electricity?
« on: August 02, 2014, 10:57:26 AM »
I'm curious to know what folks pay for electricity in this neighborhood.  My rates are higher than usual this year and I'm seriously thinking about switching to an ESCO.  Could we do an informal poll here of your costs going back the past 3 months?  How about the following setup for the poll so that we are not comparing apples to oranges - here's my info.  If 3 months is asking too much, please give the last month's bill info if you can.  I would really appreciate it and I think many of our neighbors on here would find this useful as well.  Thanks!!!

Electricity supplier?  Con Edison Solutions
Green energy supplier?   No
Supply charge for May?  11.2 cents per kWh
Supply charge for Jun?  13.2 cents per kWh
Supply charge for Jul?   16.4 cents per kWh
Total amount on your July bill?  $119
Square footage of your apt/house?  1100
Anything you want to add that impacts your electricity usage?  Hubby works from home 5 days a week

Neighborhood Chat / FreedomPop internet
« on: June 08, 2014, 03:58:04 PM »
Does anyone use or have previously used FreedomPop as their internet provider?  I really don't want to do business with Verizon or Time Warner and there are very few options left.  FreedomPop looks intriguing but their customer service is supposedly not so great.

This luggage is part of the Walkabout Lite series (an earlier model than what's currently in stores). It is in great condition, measuring 22" high x 14.5" wide x 8" deep. It has an accordion zipper that allows it to expand another 2" deep. The sturdy handle activates with a push button and can be zipped up when not in use. In addition, the luggage comes with a lot of extras you would expect from TravelPro -- a foldable garment bag for your suit or dress, a toiletry bag that straps into the inside of the luggage, and a removable clip-on strap at the top of the luggage so you can attach a smaller bag to the front. It comes with lots of pockets too: two outer zippered pockets, a zippered mesh enclosure inside, and two elastic shoe pockets inside the main compartment.

Here are two awesome dining and bath linens that will satisfy the NY-centric. They are made by H&M and sold in their much-debuted Home section – their NYC stuff sold out quickly and are no longer available. They are both new with tags, so you can buy for yourself or gift to someone else. The reason why I’m selling is because they ended up not going with my decor and their return policy for home goods is mail-only. I am selling them at cost (plus tax). The wrinkles are due to them being stored in their original packaging.

Bath mat is 100% cotton with a nice thickness to it. It measures 23" Long x 18.5" Wide.
$11

Table runner is 100% organic cotton. It measures 4’10" Long x 17.5" Wide.
The print is an old map of NYC showing parts of Manhattan and Brooklyn along the East River.
The pic shows the top half of the runner (couldn't put in a third pic in this post to show you the bottom half).

Classic black business / work tote (looks brand new) - $15
This unbranded bag has the simple look of a Tumi but without the price tag.  It's made of lightweight microfiber and can hold letter-size papers easily.  I used this for business meetings, which were rare - it can still pass for new.  Inside, it has the standard cellphone pockets, zippered wall pocket, and business card slots built in.  It also has a zippered middle divider.  Completely clean inside.  This can hold a 10” tablet easily.  I'm not so sure it can hold a heavy laptop though.  Dimensions: 14” long X 10” high X 3.5” deep

Etienne Aigner elegant black satchel bag - $10
I used this as a stylish lunch bag for work.  The inside was originally two compartments with a middle divider.  To make it work as a lunch bag for my tupperware, I cut out the divider.  Appearance-wise, only you will be able to tell that it was ever altered.  You can still use it like a normal purse, or you can make it a gym bag or a lunch bag.  Completely clean inside.  The inside includes 4 open pockets and one zippered wall pocket.   Dimensions: 12” long X 6” high X 6” deep

(1) This Eddie Bauer blue duffle bag looks brand new - didn't get much use. You can use it for the gym, weekend trips, etc. This bag comes with a small zippered pocket in the front, a cushioned hand grip, and cushioned padding on the shoulder strap. Completely clean inside. It can hold a ton of stuff.   Dimensions: 18" long X 10" high X 9" deep

(2) This is a Fossil messenger bag that was never used.  It's made of canvas and has some rugged features like grommets on the side.  It comes with lots of pockets and an adjustable strap. This can hold a 10” tablet easily.  Dimensions:  11” long X 13” high X 4” deep

I have a rarely used sleek black water kettle by Bodum that I no longer use.  When I did use it, I took good care of it and the inside is clean.  It works perfectly fine and is now waiting for someone who will make better use of it.  As you can see from the pic, it is somewhat of a misnomer since the kettle is cordless, but the base is corded.  It will come in the original box and with the manual.

I bought this white noise machine to as a way to tamper the noise from loud neighbors.  Those neighbors left after a month, so it is still pretty new.  It is now available to bring sanity back to someone else's living situation!  It is easy to operate with four different noise/loudness settings.  Two settings are operated using the button on the side, Another setting is operated by rotating the side.  Yet another setting is operated by rotating the top.  For more details, please go to the Amazon product link below - they redid the logo on the top of the machine, but it's still the same model (980A) - stellar reviews from over 4,000 customers!

Community Trade and Classifieds / Three tier bamboo storage unit $60
« on: March 08, 2014, 01:35:07 PM »
This is a virtually new bamboo 3 shelf storage unit that’s pretty versatile – you can use it as a shoe rack, a plant stand, towel holder in the bathroom, or as kitchen shelving. I used it in the kitchen for several months and now have permanent shelving so I don’t need this anymore. It is quite sturdy and comes in a warm honey color. The dimensions are 28 inches tall by 28 inches wide by 12 inches deep. Did I mention it looks brand new? Price is firm. Pick up only.
