stopped in this morning, and got my silver medal as the second paying customer :)

the cheese selection is very nice, varied, and reasonably priced. got a nice funky Italian cow's milk for 16 per pound. the proprietors are knowledgeable, and there are written flavor profile descriptions on some of the lesser known options (and samples being offered).

the pantry items also look good...didn't bring anything home, but a wide variety of jams, pickled things, veggies and nuts on display.

wishing them the best of luck!

I'm looking forward to getting a spread next time I have a bunch of friends over. Maybe I won't be a regular but I'm happy to support them and try it out.

A great addition to the neighborhood, JH now has a serious cheese store!
Excellent selection: fresh ricotta, mozzarella, several good blues, English cheddar, 24 month comté, etc, etc. Plus interesting condiments, jams, crackers & more.
The owners are a very nice young couple who really have created something special.
Spread the word

Very excited for this! Bought a few things yesterday to host a couple friends for snacks after the parade. Had some of the Manchego yesterday and a very fresh baguette! Both delicious! Trying the Taleggio and the Ossau Iraty, today.

P.S. The only reason it says: "Closed Now" on the image above is because I took the screenshot at a time before they opened for the day.

Well, I for one am thrilled with the new addition. I love cheese, I won't hate it in 10 years, and I strive every day to have a positive and welcoming outlook, unlike you two.

Welcome to the neighborhood.

i like cheese, too. very much. love D'Espana, and look forward to this new option.

and if you don't milk cows, they explode. don't they?

Are people really this clueless in 2019? Cows bred for dairy production are kept confined and are constantly impregnated so that they continue to produce milk around the clock for their babies but those babies never get the milk. Their young are ripped away within hours of birth, the females are destined for the same fates as their mothers while the males are sold for slaughter as veal. Not rocket science, people. Veal is young cow, mammals produce milk to nourish their young  just like humans. So next time you guzzle that nasty glass of hormones and mucous think about a cow sucking a human teet, or an udder or something. Eye roll.

the Jains know that the average person kills millions of innocent living creatures each and every week by eating root vegetables. if you can live with that, i can live with suckling a cow booby, a cow suckling mine, or whatever. cheers.
