When I passed by Espresso 77 this evening n(~8pm), I noticed that there was art hanging on the walls. That felt like a "near opening" touch to me- does any one have any inside information about an opening date? I am on the list to get an email when they have an official date, but I'm getting antsy! It's been a long time since August.

I stopped by Espresso 77 on Sunday and ran into the owners (lovely people).  They said that they are hoping to open this coming Saturday assuming that all goes well with what has to get done this week.  Fingers crossed that it happens!

I have no new information, but when I walked by yesterday, I saw tables and chairs! It's looking good!  :rockon:

Oh, I can't modify my post. Just wanted to let you know that when my husband walked by this morning there was a sign that said "opening very soon"! Yay!

There seems to be quite a large contingent of folks here in Jackson Heights wanting this particular type of business presence, and are anxiously counting down the days to its grand opening.  They welcome the variety and quality of coffees as well as the WiFi that may be offered and that many of them crave.  I'm sure I've read that Espresso 77 will also be offering some quality muffins as well. Keep in mind that some people are not happy with Dunkin or the coffee served at the many restaurants in the community.  I happen to like Dunkin, but will also try the new place.  Espresso 77 will provide the neighborhood with yet another option.  That's always good.

The Jackson Heights Family Group listserv is reporting that Espresso 77 opens up shop tomorrow, Sunday, December 2nd.  Hope it's true!

Wasn't open as of today (saturday) but there were staff inside having a meeting of some sort...
The Mrs and I ended up getting coffee and a pastries at Letty's and was plenty satisfied.

Here's hoping it opens tomorrow!

Wow!  Strolled by Espresso 77 about an hour ago.  The place was jam packed, and there were a few strollers parked outside.  The window glass was steamy, but I was able to take a peek inside.  All tables were occupied, and they had small line of people waiting by the counter.  The aroma of the coffee was divine!  I'll have to stop in during a weekday morning.

Anyone try the place this morning?  What did you think?

AWESOME.  Really smooth, amazing coffee.  Nothing like it in the nabe, and Starbucks is going to be bummed if they get a taste of it. The pastries are great - we had a parmesan rosemary scone.
