Real Estate & Home Improvement / to mortgage broker or not?

just curious to know if going through a mortgage broker is better than applying on my own. if i sought out my own mortgage, do i go rate shopping? do i apply for more than one pre-approval? would applying for more than one pre-approval affect my credit. not sure if this is the right board for such questions, but i am new to the board and have found it extremely helpful so far. thanks.

both buildings were quite nice.
i also really liked the manchester and dunnolley gardens.
does anyone have comments on fillmore hall?

This is such a great resource for JH residents and future JH residents. I will be looking at two apartments this Sunday, one in the Saybrook and one in Colonial Courts. Any thoughts on those as well?
