Real Estate & Home Improvement / Re: Plaza 75 "Luxury Condos."

The apartments were not "luxury" by any means.  Wood floors throughout but the broker didn't mention what type of quality so I am guessing they are on the lower end (i.e. <3" planks).  The bathrooms are standard, nothing out of the ordinary (i.e. no steam baths, no high end bath fixtures, etc.).  Every single apartment is the exact same in terms of finishes and appliances.

That being said, the location from a convenience point of view is excellent. Trains, buses, restaurants and shopping galore.

I swung by yesterday to take a look at their apartments.  Saw a 2bd / 2bth (listed as 1150ish sq. ft), 1bd and the 3bd/2bth penthouse.

The apartments are on the smaller side -- my biggest disappointment with the configuration was the lack of any dining space in the units.  The architect just left one room outside of the kitchen to serve as the dining/living room.

No doorman yet (could happen later if the board decides to make it happen).  Parking is first come first serve at $200/mo.  Storage lockers for a fee (room is still being built out).  There are two large common areas with one on the 2nd floor and the other on the 8th floor.

Sales are certainly slow with not a single unit closed on yet, but a handful of units are in contract including one of two penthouses.

I'm countertop shopping right now as well.

There are a plethora of stores right off the Liden Blvd blvd exit on the Whitestone Expwy when you make the right right.  Within that 3-4 block radius you will find quite a few.  All of them will come to your place, measure and then install usually the following day.  The pricing they gave you includes everything  with prices ranging from $30-$120sq. ft.

based on this listing of a 3bd/2bth that sold at the colton, it appears no dogs are allowed:

I've seen a few units in the building.  The spaces are good but the building seemed a bit sterile and lacking character IMO.  That probably goes hand in hand with it being a condo since many units may be sublet out to others, absentee ownership, etc.
