JH Art Talks is starting its 3rd season on September 11, with presentations by Queens artists Ged Merino and Kyung-jin Kim. Join us at Espresso77 at 8 pm this Wednesday. Each artist will speak for about 20-30 minutes, followed by a Q&A.

JH Art Talks #21 will take place next Wednesday night February 13th with local sculptor/ceramicist Paul Krause and painter Pierre Obando presenting their work.

The talks take place at 8 pm at Espresso 77. The event is free, but the purchase of a beverage or some food is requested for use of the space.

Our next JH Art Talks event is this Wednesday night at Espresso 77 at 8 pm. We will be featuring Nada Shalaby and Jean-Marie Casbarian--two artists who work with archives and research as part of their art-making, sometimes blurring the lines between fact and fiction.

Just want to let people know about the JH Art Talks series, which began in December 2016 and features two local visual artists presenting their work on the second Wednesday of each month at Espresso77. Each talk is about 20-25 minutes, and there is a brief Q&A afterwards. The event is free, but a one drink or food purchase is requested for use of the space.

This Wednesday night, artists Margaret Cogswell and Jonathan Feldschuh will be featured. You can find more information about their work here on our FB page.

Jackson Heights of Yesteryear / Looking for old-timers to interview

hello,

I am looking for long time residents of Jackson Heights to interview for an art project, funded by the Queens Council on the Arts. I am creating a series of drawings which combine excerpts from interviews with architectural drawings of facades in the neighborhood.

I am looking for older residents of Jackson Heights to share their memories and impressions of the neighborhood. The excerpts are presented anonymously in the artwork. I record the interviews on my phone for my records, but I can also share a copy with you, and with your permission, I can also submit to the Queens oral history project through the library.
