We stopped by this afternoon to order a pumpkin pie for a Friendsgiving party. Walnut cookies are another favorite treat. It's great to see how busy Lety's is lately. The new space seems very popular.

We returned for lunch today and brought a friend. Like us she was very impressed. There were a few open tables when we got there. Another wonderful meal!

We had a great time here tonight. The saag paneer was the best we've ever had. Servers were friendly and offered us dahi batata puri as amuse-bouche: delicious! Also enjoyed the bhindi masala (okra) and rajma masala (red kidney beans). We plan on returning soon with friends. The chef-owner took time to chat with us. This is definitely a neighborhood gem worth supporting!

These tacos are fantastic! Just picked some up with consomme on the way home from Roosevelt Station. I can already imagine how good it'll be to have that consomme when the weather cools down. Welcome to the neighborhood, Beefrria.

It took us a while, but we finally stopped by Stand Alone Cheese today for their house-made mozzarella to pair with farmers' market heirloom tomatoes and basil. We bought two balls so looking forward to enjoying again tomorrow.

The couple who owns Stand Alone were extremely welcoming. Their cheese was wonderful.

My wife and I returned to Farine this past weekend and had a positive experience after staying away for a few weeks. Cashier greeted us in a friendly manner and got our pastries quickly (there was one group of people ahead of us being helped by someone else).

Has anyone here tried ordering a cake or a pie in advance? If you could share your experience here I'd appreciate it.

Thanks in advance

No, I haven't tried Fuska House, but my wife and I really like pani puri, which we've previously gotten at the local street fairs. Thanks for the recommendation. We'll have to order it from Fuska.

The baked empanadas at La Gran Uruguaya Bakery are great. Get one spinach and one carne, and don't forget to ask for picante, their homemade hot sauce, which has avocado dice in it.

Our favorite halal cart is the one in front of TD Bank, directly on 37th Avenue (at 74th Street). Be sure to go to the one that's located right on 37th Ave., facing Duane Reade, since there's another cart at that corner on 74th. The lamb and chicken over rice with white and green sauce is delicious, and the guys who run the cart are friendly.

So far, we've had the almond croissant, apple tart, mini apple danish, chocolate chunk cookie, and peach-almond tart. The peach-almond tart was the favorite. And the mini apple danish was the perfect sweet bite. We also got to sample the Mignano candy bar, which was quite good, from Chef Michael himself. We'll be back.

Thumbs up to the spaghetti and meatballs and the ziti. The broccoli rabe side is a bit salty but portion size was generous. Mamma Rosa's is a nice place to sit and eat.

We don't eat pizza often but love the thin crust pies at Los Amigos on Northern Boulevard.

I attempted to move my post to the Zaytoun thread but doesn't look like it worked...

...Also, Zaytoun on 82nd has some of the best falafel I've had.

New member here and thought I'd add my 2 cents! These two have basically been my lunch and dinner every other day for the past two weeks  :D

DrJBastida, glad you mentioned Zaytoun and their delicious falafel! My wife and I have gotten takeaway from Zaytoun about four or five times and enjoy it very much. Standing order is the Supreme Vegetarian Platter and Meat Lover Platter, which we got based off the menu posted here by Shelby2. Thanks to everyone who posts tips on this board. It's much appreciated!
