Restaurants & Food / Khampa Kitchen Inn
« on: October 07, 2018, 10:36:11 AM »
My wife and I stopped by Khampa Kitchen Inn on Friday evening for dinner (Roosevelt Ave. between 75th and 76th). We were drawn in by the nice decor; the dining area is set off from the main drag by a vestibule.

Our order: We shared Lhasa noodle soup with beef (a light clear broth, simply garnished with scallion), Chinese broccoli, and a beef pie (Khampa Poethek) that we haven't seen on the menus at the other local spots we frequent.

Everything was great, and the beef pie was especially delicious and unique. Our friendly server warned us that it would take 20 minutes for the pie to be ready, but the space is enjoyable to sit in and she kept our cups of warm tea filled.

We will definitely return soon to try our standbys: momos and thenthuk (hand-pulled noode soup).
