I thought of this classic today, ironically reading the cat thread.  Something about 'cat left in Don Fernando' stuck in my head with this title ...

I Left My Wallet In El Segundo

Title is opening line!

I hear the drums echoing tonight
But she hears only whispers of some quiet conversation
She's coming in 12:30 flight
The moonlit wings reflect the stars that guide me towards salvation
I stopped an old man along the way,
Hoping to find some old forgotten words or ancient melodies
He turned to me as if to say, Hurry boy, It's waiting there for you

Here comes the rain again
Falling on my head like a memory
Falling on my head like a new emotion

I want to walk in the open wind
I want to talk like lovers do
I want to dive in your ocean
Is it raining with you?

Talk to me, like lovers do
Walk with me, like lovers do
Talk to me, like lovers do
Ooh oh

Ah Native, Toto is great, in part because this song can be MASHED UP with almost anything. (for those of you who don't know, mashups are where two or more song are blended so well, usually crossing genres.)

WOW...This song is so deeper then most would give it credit...probably one of the most under rated songs of our time.."the words of the prophet written on the subway walls"

I HATE WHEN MY SESSION TIMES OUT BEFORE I'M DONE!!!!   ARRRRGHHHHH!!!!

Ok, done venting.

Mark Knopfler, former front man of Dire Straits.  Saw him in concert the other night.  AWESOME guitarist and amazing group of musicians on stage with him.  This was one of his songs that I loved:  GET LUCKY

I'm better with my muscles
than I am with my mouth

I love this thread...It really should be named "My favorite songs" :D

The Beach Boys KOKOMO - 1988

Aruba, Jamaica ooh I wanna take ya
To Bermuda, Bahama come on pretty mama
Key Largo, Montego baby why don't we go
Jamaica
off the Florida Keys
There's a place called Kokomo
That's where you wanna go to get away from it all

Bodies in the sand
Tropical drink melting in your hand
We'll be falling in love :smitten:
To the rhythm of a steel drum band
Down in Kokomo

I have a heart that's proud you bet
I have a mind that won't forget
And I have arms that are strong and yet
Tender when they wanna to be

Well you can be the will that finds the way
You can be the one who saves the day
But show me tender when it's time to say
Exactly how it ought to be

You know, one of the reasons I use this thread is to get a shortcut to some of MY favorite Jams.  I was really ticked off when I clicked on Toto's Africa... :tickedoff:

HEY MISFITS, LOOK AT DAVID PAITCH'S GREEN/BLUE SWEATER/PULLOVER... I SWEAR...I HAVE THIS SAME SHIRT AND WHILE HIS IS 30 YEARS OLD MINE IS 20 YEARS OLD....HAHAHA.  I'M NOT KIDDING, ITS IN MY CLOSET RIGHT NOW - IT'S PROBABLY SCREAMING (DADDY, TAKE ME OUT DADDY!)   :2funny:

Anyway...here is the new Youtube link.  Sorry, my selfish, self.  :D

BTW...@ Buddy...There are kids here OK....Keep it G rated lady!    :D :D :D

You're like a cool breeze to a hot spell
You're like a long drink to a dry well
Oh I know by now there's no use thinking
That it's something in that water I've been drinking
Cause I would not need even one more drop if you'd just let me into your heart

You're like a blue sky to a grey day
You're like a new try to an old way
Oh I never needed much convincing 'bout that something in my life that's been missing
But I think I know where to find that part if you'd just let me into your heart
