E-Readers and the Queens Public Library
« on: April 03, 2011, 09:12:11 AM »
I am curious if anyone has checked out an e-book from the Queens Public Library.  I know the QPL provides this service and has a limited number of titles available as e-books.  Has anyone had any success doing this?  Any thoughts or comments about checking an e-book out from the QPL?

Yes, I have good experience with e-books at Queens Library. They have a fairly nice selection of trade books/mass market. You click here http://www.queenslibrary.org/index.aspx?section_id=14&page_id=319 , then on e-books. You can browse through the titles or search for something specific. I download it for my iphone but I imagine it's the same for other readers that don't have format restrictions. It's fairly straightforward but you need to sign in.

Enjoy reading!

The library has been closed for about a week - does anyone know when it will reopen?  (I have a book that's due on Monday 8/14)

the signs on the door last sunday -- last time i walked by -- said it would be closed for one week....if they stick to that, you should be ok. (and i doubt they'd get surly about a 'late' book that couldn't be returned 'cause of their problems).

They should be reopening this week, yes, though in my understanding late fees will apply b/c they've been announcing that books can't be returned to this location during the week they're closed. Either way, the fines there are minimal (25 cents a day) and you should be able to pay it with no problem.
