YIPPEE! Someone is coming over on Monday to go through my book cases.

Now I need someone to do the same for records. I have thousands. I not only have my own collection of vinyl, but also my parents and my sister's. I haven't yet fully cataloged them all, but they start in the 1920s and go through the 1970s and range from opera to doo-wop.

Hey, I finally got rid of my 8-tracks. Can you believe someone actually gave me money for them?

What is it they say . . . someone's trash may be someone else's treasure.

Never. Crap being the last word, that is.

Wow Mac, you are going to be so happy when some of your life baggage is gone, I bet you are going to tap dance all over the topic site

Now, if I can just get down to some of your good example.
Will report on progress. Stay tuned.
Now that I've gone public with it, feel free to harass me until I post After pix. Before is too shameful :'(

Handbags anyone? I've got 'em beaded, from the 1940s. What the hell was I thinking? How about some picture frames, huh? 8" X 10", 5" X 7", 11" X 14"? All black wood frames with the glass . . .how many can I put ya down for?

And to make today even more special for me, my phones are dead. Yep, D•E•A•D! So, Verizon will be here tomorrow between 8:00 AM and 6:00 PM. I thought they gave you a shorter window, but noooooo, sit around all effing day and wait for them to ring the doorbell at 5:45 PM. I think I'll make a sausage pasta sauce. That'll keep me from taking an unscheduled, narcoleptic-type nap! G-d, I hope I can fall asleep tonight or tomorrow will be a verrrry long day!

beaded handbags in good condition should go to a consignment shop Mac.  I'd look around.  They might be worth something.

I don't have the patience.

I have a doll collection, started by my great-grandmother that I am hoping to leave for a granddaughter—if I ever get one! If not I will have it sold. That might be worth something. My prime objective now, is to get rid of books, records, business clothes, all the chotchkies I've collected from around the world, boxes of picture frames . . . all the clutter. I've even got a 4 drawer, hanging-file cabinet that I am going to weed out useless crap. I've been in my apartment since 1964 and I have every stupid piece of paper I ever got from any of the landlords and DHCR. I have boxes of sports memorabilia, historic newspapers and magazines—all kinds of 'stuff' that my children don't have any interest in—so out it goes!

I might start putting some of the stuff on freecycle.

This clutter is driving me crazy.

I'm a huge fan of Craig's List.  I've sold a bike, an air purifier, a small microwave.... all sold in less than 8 hours.  And the people came to me and picked up what they bought and paid cash (which I had stipulated).

Craigslist is a good idea. I just don't think any of my crap is worth anything.

Buddy, your question is very Zen. How will I take a picture of nothing? :coolsmiley:

At the moment all the contents of a 7' bookcase AND a 2 drawer lateral file cabinet are strewn around the apartment. No room is safe, save the bathroom. As I look at my bedroom right now, I see 2 virgin scrapbooks. Oops, make that 3. Countless papers that need to be shredded, but the shredder is still in it's box.

Oh, it is all too much. ARGHHH :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'(

Don't know, but will explore. Buddhist chant, that is.

Going to a meeting of JH Green this AM. At Starbucks - 8:30. I was in Novo last night, as detailed somewhere else on the site, and met a friend who is an active member of helping the neighborhood get greener. He convinced me, notoriously not an AM person to be there with a friend who was founding member of Friends of Travers Park.

Exciting.

Glad you seem to have had LW for Mon.
