I went into Yofiore this weekend to try their coffee or pomegranate and they only had plain and green tea  Something about the place didn't appeal to me so I left and went over to Yogurberry and had their plain with blueberries, strawberries and pineapples. They piled the fruit on.  It was so damn delicious.  Every time I walk by lately, people are in there either on line or sitting.  I hope they're here to stay.
First, do no harm.

So the Pinkberry frozen yogurt formula wasn't that natural after all.  I haven't tried Pinkberry yet, but if it tastes good, I more than likely would be a repeat customer as this is an occasional treat.  It's so hard to find whole foods these days...particularly when it comes to foods like over-the-counter frozen yogurts and ice creams.

It looks like this new place is a yogurt shop and cell phone store combo.

I tried the yogurt the day after they opened which was OK but I had a feeling that they were sharing space with another type of retailer since the back area was still not stocked.  I won't go back.  How many cell phone/shoe stores or other combination storefronts does this neighborhood need!    :tickedoff:

I was hoping for something else in the Duane Reade - now second ABC store.  Too bad.  A bookstore would have been nice.  Any news on the empty Bang Bang and Medusa storefronts?

I'm still waiting to see what their pomegranate flavor tastes like.  I imagine froyo is a pretty seasonal business, so I don't blame them for looking for a way to pay the rent when business is slow.

We were in a frozen yogurt mood tonight, so we decided to stop by Yoguberry.  Unfortunately, the place was closed at around 9:15 p.m., so we took a walk to Yofiore.  Yay!  It was open.  Given the time, Yofiore was busy with customers ordering take-out and seated as well.  So that's good news.

We each had a small cup...coffee and green tea, along with some granola topping.

$3.50 for each cup because we ordered a flavor rather than the original ($2.50 for small)
$1.00 for each topping
.75 cents tax
Grand total of $9.75

Kind of steep if you ask me.

My coffee yogurt was refreshing and light, but I really didn't detect much of the coffee flavor.  Maybe it was all the garlic I used at dinnertime.  Hubby liked the green tea and said he would order it again.  By the way, still no pomegranate available.

Best part of the night?  Bumping into the traveling Mariachi on Roosevelt!

Gotta chime in on this topic.  I love Pinkberry and go often in Manhattan.

Yogurberry- Its an okay choice (for literally being in my building) but pales in comparison to Pinkberry.  The staff is nice.

Yofiore- Loved this yogurt.  Very close in flavor to Pinkberry. Plus, like Pinkberry, they have the rice cake topping, which Yogurberry does not have.  Looking forward to trying the pomegranate and coffee flavors when they get them going.  Very happy to have this option in the nabe.  The young ladies working there were a little clueless but perhaps this will improve with time.

From the 7 Train, I just spied another Yofiore at the 52nd Street station.  Something tells me there will be more to follow....

I noticed that too, last time I was on the 7 train.  It was fun to see it from above.

Yes, it seems there will be 2 more locations in Woodside and Bayside, as there is a help wanted sign for those locations at our yogurberry on 37th.

Another new yogurt place at Broadway between 75th and 76th Streets. It's called Yo-go To-go. It's been open about a month - did anyone else try it out?

There's the usual frozen yogurt, but also a new blueberry yogurt flavor. And in addition to that they have ice cream in pretty unusual flavors like cherry vanilla (which came with little chunks of cherries!).

I took my son out to fro-yo togo tonight, it's the one by the train station (Broadway btwn 76 and 75th.  It was very good, the taste was a little less sharp and a little more sweet than yogurberry, I had plain with strawberries.  They did not have green tea flavor but they did have blueberry flavor.  My son had a vanilla ice cream cone, I tried it, okay, I ate most of it and it was delicious.  I asked the woman who worked there how many calories the yogurt had, she said, "zero!"  Is that really true? I have to research.

Sadly, if it's yogurt, it has calories.

Has anyone stopped by Yofiore lately?  I'm just wondering if they finally have the pomegranate flavor available.  I like that this place has later hours than Yogurberry.  We can't ever seem to make it in time to Yogurberry before closing time.

My gf and I went to yogurberry tonight  and I must be out of touch with the pricing. We each got a small cup with strawberry and pineapple and it was $2.50 plus an additional dollar for each topping.  With tax it was almost $5.00 each yogurt.  I guess this is standard pricing.  I remember  in the 60's when the ice cream truck came when I was a kid and I could get a Marino's Italian ice for 15 cents.  But maybe it wasn't expensive tonight since as a kid my allowance was 50 or 75 cents.  My allowance is a lot :2funny: more now
