They're nothing like Tasti D -- the crop of yogurt places serve more of a tart yogurty-tasting product that, in some cases, is actually real frozen yogurt. Tasti D is, well, I'm actually not sure if there are any natural ingredients in it (though it is, as the name says, quite tasty).

Hey, has anyone seen the new yogurt place? As my bf put it, it looks like spaceship beamed it down from another planet! Very mod, and SciFi. More reminicent (to me) of the Pinkberry store front.
VERY different than the surrounding businesses on Roosevelt & 82nd. Not a comment, just an observation.

It officially opened today. Seems they have flavors like coffee, green tea, and pomegrante.

Every time I walk by Yougurberry someone is in there. I hope it does survive. I have to check out the new place. Sounds interesting. I love pomegranates.

The summer season should be a good indicator if Yogurberry survives.  I hope it does, as I love yogurt and see it as a healthier alternative to ice cream.

I'm glad to hear that coffee is one of the flavors available at the new place on 82nd.  I seek out coffee flavored anything!

I passed by Yogifiore today as well and also took note of the flavors.  One of these days I will try it out, though I like the coziness and design of the Yogurberry space better.

As for the coffee flavor . . .in the Times today there is an article about how Pinkberry, which I believe is the predecessor of these other places, had to pay $750,000 because they somehow misrepresented their product as natural or as yogurt.  The details of that don't concern me too much, but I did notice that the author of the article gave her summary of the Pinkberry flavors as:

coming in "three flavors: plain, which is very sour; green tea, which is chalky; and coffee, uncommonly delicious"

So I guess if Yogifiore is anything like Pinkberry (which I suspect it is), then you are in for a treat.

Just went to Yofiore (what is this supposed to mean, by the way?). The plain was nearly identical in flavor to Yogurberry. They were out of Pomegranate, so I'll be back for that. I prefer Yogurberry's space, though.

I think the word fiore may mean flower or blossom in Italian.  At least that's what my online translator told me.

However, I'm pretty sure all of these yogurt places are knockoffs of one another, but besides Pinkberry I'm not sure which came first.

There is Fiore

and Ce Fiore

Yogurberry

and now we have YOGIFIORE (or is it Yofiore)?

I wanted to add that one blog on these yogurt places calls them the "McDowell's" of Pinkberry.

That's a reference to the fast-food restaurant in Eddie Murphy's Coming to America that was a knock-off of McDonalds, right down to its golden arches.  Here's the wikipedia entry on McDowells

I guess this hits close to home for us because the McDowells in the movie was located at 85-07 Queens Blvd in Elmhurst, not far from Yogifiore.

Yogurberry and Yogufiore are owned by the same individual. Yogurberry is a Korean Chain knock-off of Pinkberry. Yogurfiore is a new store modeled on Yogurberry that the owner wants to turn into a new chain himself.

Went to Yogurfiore (however you spell it) today and the place was filled with a diverse crowd, but unfortunately the tables were dirty and so was the floor. When two people are working behind the counter and no one is buying yogurt, shouldn't one of them be cleaning up the place??

I personally think the plain with strawberries is amazing...

I figured pinkberry was first, but I recently read that Yogurberry was the first Korean yogurt knock off in LA...hmmm.
