Hello,

I'm Luis and I was Born in Jacoby Hospital, "circa 1968", in the "boogie Down Bx".  Moved early on to Puerto Rico and returned to NYC at the age of 10.  Went to Samuel Gompers HS and then part time to John Jay College while working for the Trump Org.  Quit college, left the job and went on my own for while.  After I started making a NORMAL wage I left the Bronx.  I moved to Ozone Pk and bought my 1st home in Howard Beach soon after.  After a divorce I ended up living in JH for a couple of years.  It was a strange time in my life but Jackson Heights is one of those places that make a mark in ones life.  Good or bad, a mark nevertheless and in my case a bit of the bad :coolsmiley: and lots of the good :)

I found the "mentally challenged"  :D  creatures here at JHL to be legitimate and caring and while I live in Holliswood at this time I do make part of my income in JH and spend about 2 or 3 hours in the neighborhood daily.  I am an environmental remediation consultant by trade and I have been able to tie in all things real estate and construction into what I do today.  I think I found a home here,  locally.  Who would have thought? :smitten:

Howdy all!

I am Richard Calvache, born and raised in JH for 30 years now (Elmhurst Hospital baby ).

I live on 91st Street between Roosevelt and 37th in the mecca of DOCTORS OFFICES... If you were ever down there during christmas you'd recognize my house because my mom added so many lights that she could land planes...

I come from a theater background but I moved to Fl for a year to study film from the school of life. I came back and lived in Woodside for a year where I made this short:

My mom after many christmas's past decided to move to PA and in turn I now rent out her 1st floor. I am back home again.
My biggest accomplishments would have to be my first Doc that I got interview for....

I actually have worked with a few fellow forum member here (ARonan). I have tried my best to stumble through an at home production company I run where my former bedroom use to be.

I made friends with other local filmmaker especially my best friend who is the owners son from the transfer shop in Woodside (RK Video)...

...but I am always looking to make more...

I currently work filming programs/workshops and performances for Queens Theater in the Park and occasionally teach theater or film for afterschool programs.

If you ever see me in the street just say hi! I'm always usually wearing a fedora hat...
Hope to see you guys around!

Hi everybody. Um I'm not sure if I'm writting in the right place, but I would like to introduce myself to you and say hi. I regret that I haven't found this website earlier, cause I've spent the whole vacations on Jackson Heights. 37Th Ave  81st street. I truly enjoyed every single day on Jackson Heights  ;D I don't know when will I come for another time but maybe next summer, I hope. In my opinion 37Th Ave. is so cool;) especially the stores between 81st and 78Th street :).

Oh, and guys I have a question. Does anyone know the names of the guys (employers) from Italian Farms, ha ha? :coolsmiley:

Hi everyone,

Glad to find this site!
Been in the neighborhood for a couple of years now, and finally have some time to explore what it has to offer.
Looking to maximize my experience here and also contribute where possible.
