I stopped by this evening and everyone was lovely and knowledgeable. I'm looking forward to seeing the store up and running with a full stock!

Table Wine is a great addition to the neighborhood. Wonderful selection and reasonable prices. Please support them. Drink more wine!

Hello everyone.  Once again thank you for your support and a great first week.  I just wanted to let you know there will be a tasting tomorrow (friday) from 4:30 to 7:30.  2 great wines from Spain.  I hope to see you there.  If you can't pass by, don't worry there are more tastings to come.  Thanks Again.

Just an FYI to everyone that I changed the name of the 37th Avenue wine shop thread to Table Wine, the shop's actual name.
The Chuckster has spoken!

FINALLY - Since they opened I have been there twice.  The selections are varied, the prices are reasonable, they discount 6 bottles and/or a case.  Since moving to JH over 18 months ago we,ve been going to Astoria, or Astor Place for vino -I prefer supporting local merchants.

Ernesto,

Question for you, once you guys are up to full steam, any talk of staying opening a little later?

Just stopped in for the first time this evening.  Loved it.  A great and unique addition to the neighborhood.  They were offering a wine tasting--tried a white and red.  Bought a lovely Cotes Du Rhone . . . for $14!  A lot of great values in this place.  Love the simple, rustic, (non-cheesy) decor.  NO cardboard to be seen!  The hand-written wine tags are great--especially the descriptions.  Very friendly sales staff and owner.  Now Jackson Heights needs a nice cheese shop next door--and a book store!  :)

Will there be any Wine 101 classes?
I was at a dinner tonight where the rest of my friends knew the difference between Chardonnay, Riesling, Sauviginon (sp). I stuck to Bass Ale on draft, but am not averse to learning about wines.

I know next to nothing about wines... but I went in today and I thought the place was great --- because of the prices. most things are in the teens. I have no problem with that at all. I also like the little cards which explain them.

there goes the neighborhood...

This might be a long shot, but do they stock sake too?
