Angel Indian Restaurant
« on: October 14, 2019, 09:44:50 AM »
Just want to give a plug to the new Angel Indian Restaurant that opened at 7414 37th Rd. The owner was a chef at Adda in LIC, and the menu is all vegetarian.

Was damn tasty, we had the saag paneer and the Masala Dosa; both of which tasted so fresh and you could taste the love.

They are still shacking out the operation, but a awesome additional to the hood.

This is excellent news!  Adda is one of the best Indian restaurants in the city.

Would Adda be just as popular without the decoration and safe location?

I agree.  I thought it was better than the offerings in Jackson Heights, and most of what I've had on Lex as well.   I haven't tried the higher-end places, so I can't compare those.

If you've tried it, and disagree, I'd like hear about your experience there.   I respect your opinion!

Safe location? As in LIC? It's in the middle of NOWHERE. Not like it's on Vernon Blvd.

That being said...it is EXCELLENT. I agree (begrudgingly) that it is better than some of the offerings here. I wish our restaurants would take note on how ambience can rest enhance the dining experience.

LIC = Safe. Just as Jackson Heights is safer than Corona. Same as Tortilleria Nixtamal is safer than La Espiga. Same as Queens Night Market is safer than Warren Street. Safe is just what I say instead of more blunter terms such as gentrified or white.

I posted to support a new business in Jackson Heights, that was really tasty. Hopefully, we won't need to worry about Adda, because we can just stay in the neighborhood.

It will be interesting if they applied for a beer/wine license or it will be BYOB. I forgot to ask when we were there over the weekend.

I am confused by the simplistic opinion re: restaurants that
White = Bad
Non-White = Good

A more nuanced, and correct view, I believe, is that both White and Non White establishments can be Good... or Bad. Depending totally on what the venue offers.

People always say Jackson Heights has good Indian food.

I always thought the Indian options were good, but not amazing.

Until now.

ANGEL Indian is OUTSTANDING - dishes not overly creamy or over-spiced.

Easily the best restaurant in the neighborhood

Go support them!
