The further and further to the left the Democratic party is pushed by extreme progressives, radicals, and social justice warriors, the more afraid I become of a second Trump term. The venom with which Katz is being attacked here in this forum demonstrates that AOC's followers and her like have a zero-tolerance policy for anyone who hasn't drunk their Kool-Aid... just as it is with Trump's base.

Agreed. They are exact mirror images in their fervent and vehement and black/white, unnuanced viewpoints.
It's remarkable, really. Ironically, they have become the same... albeit from opposing POVs.

I believe the majority of folks aren't that. Thankfully.

For the next election, my suspicion is that the winner will be whoever has the best parties at their
rallies. The entertainment factor has become the sway vote. Bring on the music, the comedy and
the fun. Otherwise, I see these previous posters predictions of a stalemate all too accurate
with entrenched sides staying firm.

Comebacks like Al Sharpton saying yesterday that he can't be a con man like Trump is saying
because "if I was, he'd would've asked me to be on his cabinet!" are hilarious and will
hopefully soften the lines.

Considering this is a long term appointment and not up for re-election every couple or four years, I believe the district attorney  position has a huge potential impact on Queens' future...

The Qns DA is an elected official, not an appointment, and the term is four years. DA Brown was elected six times.

I didn't know that. Thanks! That's actually good news to me. So the official might be out in 4 years, whoever they might eventually be. If they don't deliver. Great. Well, hooray for Democracy, then.

The DSA has an edict: Do Not Talk To Cops. Literally, we almost had a prosecutor that is so anti-cop that her field director has the edict on her twitter bio. The rule was enforced at this week's DSA convention.

Tonight was National Night Out. Melinda Katz participated. I don't recall our local pols announcing it. Does anyone know if any of our pols or their reps attended?

On another note, the Dems do not appear to have anyone running against AOC in 2020. So far, there are about four republicans and one interloper dem.
