It seems that if you are a registered Democrat and you voted, your vote should count even if you didn’t sign your name on the line.  The people who voted may of not been aware that you need to sign your name. Katz’s lawyer will argue that those votes need to thrown out on that technicality. Seems very disingenuous to me.

The head of the Board of Elections was appointed by Crowley. Crowley supports Katz. AOC, who defeated Crowley, supports Caban.

What this situation really encapsulates precisely, unfortunately, is the deep rift between us Democrats.
Which, alas, doesn't bode well for Democrats in 2020.

Caban has lawyers overseeing the process just like Katz does.

This is far from over.  The result will definitely move more than 16 votes in the recount.

The machine Judge will favor the machine’s candidate Katz. It doesn’t matter that Cabán has a lawyer. This is how things are done in Queens.

If the bill passed both houses of the NYS legislators before the election then it is not improper to sign it into law. It lets people’s vote count regardless of minor irregularities. I think that is fair. It does not mean it favors one side or the other. It also gives the judge assigned the case an easy out and not forced to help Katz steal the election.

Your assumption that this law will help Caban...and not Katz...and that's why it's not being signed...is incorrect logic.
The signing of the law might help Katz and not Caban. Impossible to tell.

Not really because it has been reported that there are 100 plus votes that were not signed and are trying to be thrown out by Katz’s lawyer. Cabán’s lawyer claims they should count. This only will be decided after the vote is counted and if only necessary.

Cuomo would sign it if it would help Katz, duh!
By not signing it he is only looking to suppress the voice of the people who vote for our legislators. That doesn’t sound very Democratic to me.

Uh, I'm sorry.  That does not seem "fair" at all. We're in the middle of a recount based on existing rules.  Changing the rules to favor one candidate or the other, regardless of who ends up getting an advantage, would be legislative interference. How is that different from selectively invalidating Democratic votes in the Deep South because poll stations stayed open a little late?   Voters are clearly divided here.  As a party, Dems need to accept that reality, work with the rules as they exist and do their best to prevent yet another intra-party circular firing squad from hampering the chance for reforms both candidates claim to favor.

It's as if you believe both houses are fair for all sides. I would think that both houses would favor Katz, if anything actually.

Please note:
The judge presiding over the trail for the 144 questional affidavits is from Brooklyn and NOT part of the "Queens machine". He was appointed to avoid the claim that the "machine' fixed the case.

Because the Brooklyn Democratic Party is beyond reproach? Lol. Don’t you remember the party boss was a crook. Also they have had problems with their DA and corruption. They are part of the same corrupt system that has taken years to implement.
