I think a good location for a Trader Joe's would be in the now vacant Sports Authority building on Northern Blvd at 50 Street  It seems to meet most of their requirements.  I wrote to Trader Joe's suggesting it.  If anyone else thinks this is a good idea please send them an email.  The more the better.

If they get a lot of interest, they might take it seriously since we only have one, very inconveniently located TJ's in Queens!

Wegman's is another option. I am open to that also.  I just went on their website and found they plan to open one in Brooklyn.  We could write to them also with this suggestion.

That location on Northern Boulevard is also right next to a subway stop, unlike TJ's other location in Queens, which requires a bus, taxi, or car.

I noticed that the parking lot at the former Sports Authority is now being used to stock vehicles from a local dealer.  Wondering if this is an indicator that the space will be utilized by a car dealership for the long-term.

I say keep those requests to TJ's coming. Three subway lines stop right there! That location would be such a huge advantage for everyone in Astoria, Jackson Heights, Sunnyside (and S Gardens) and Long Island City.
