Yeah, I've taken my cat to the the vet on 35th and 71st a few times, and I have been very satisfied.  I'm lucky that he is such a healthy cat, and we've had very few issues or problems, which is why we have only been there a few times! 

I have had several bad experiences with the Animal Clinic on 71st Street, and would never recommend it to any pet owner.  I strongly feel that I cannot post my comments on this open forum though.  If you would like more information on my experiences, please feel free to message me.

Yes, I go there, too. But they don't treat my darling kitty like the royal highness that she is. They treat her like she's a toaster oven in for repair. Anyone know a vet in the neighborhood who has compassion for animals and treats them like the hairy little humans that they really are?

hello having had just about every pet you could imagine dog/cats/rabbits etc i've been to every \vet in the area and manhattan/woodside etc. Hts vet. hospital did a good  job on my dog saving her -but only see DR. Riley not anyone else I had the other vet tell me my dog whom was only walked on cement and never around others had fleas (he was lying) anyhow dr cesaer  tello on 85 st is a jh native and a wonderful guy very sweet but expensive i had a prescription for my dog he told me to take it to riteaid he didnt have any in his office riteaid wanted 300 dollars plus he is in basement apt with stairs etc i always hear dogs barking down there.  i havent heard anything good about the newer place on northernand 70 something. There was another vet on northern and 89 i believe- I did not like him whatsoever it appeared he was faking giving my dog a shot (im not kidding) and he was trying to have me do all  these test/etc not very friendly to me or my dog. Now for emergencies I took my catero the place across from target on qns blvd excellent quick service very expensive but it was a sun and my cat couldve died. I usually take the cat to manhattan humane society its cheaper but after my rabbit was neutered he died the same day at home.Sorry to rant!

I'm sure most of you have seen my post for the adoption of "Hurricane Hanna" whom we rescued.  She had a lame leg, a severe infection and was hiding under cars.  She was 8 weeks old and it was only a matter of hours before she was killed by a car.  We took her to Dr. Cesar Tello and explained the situation.  One of the tenants had generously donated $150 towards her medical care, but that wasn't enough for Dr. Tello.  For $140 we walked away with an examination and anti-biotics.  He drew blood but told us that he could only have it tested for another $70.  This was a rescue of an animal that we couldn't keep.  Surely his moral code could have made some accomodations for our rescue effort?  He said he'd hold the blood for a few days while "we raised more money". We will never go to him.

For the last 7 years I have taken my dog to the Animal Clinic of Long Island City on 36th Ave and 32nd St.  They are very dedicated and caring.  They work with appointments but are always willing to squeeze you in when needed.  Prices are moderate.  Service is great.  My dog, Chance, gives it two paws up!

Buddy, I haven't been to Heights Vet. Hospital but I'll keep that as an option for our next, inevitable rescue.  Thanks.
