Atlas Mall might not be perfect, but at least they are trying to bring some higher end stores into the area. Glendale get them and JH gets. . . Starbucks.
I'd be interested in knowing which mall/plaza folks like.
PS How do you get to Trader Joe's without a car?

The Q29 which begins on 82nd St, just opposite the Jackson Theatre takes you right to Atlas Park. Same bus takes you to Target and the Queens Center.
It is a nice bus ride - passes Juniper Valley Park if you want to hop off.
The end of the line is 83rd just off Roosevelt.
Personally I like going to the mall for part of the day. Borders is a great vegging out place and you can take the books to the coffee bar.
For movie goers there is a big Regal Cinema complex there, too.
I give it a thumbs up even though it looks like it should be somewhere in Middle America.

The prices for generic meds at Walgreen are breathtakingly expensive. I have had great luck with B&B on 37th Ave. between 80th and 81Streets. They are friendly, speedy and really take an interest in you and your family. They also will fight for your rights to be covered. I was there when there was a snafu with my Medicare coverage. After 20 minutes with the health plan and conversations with others, in two languages, they confirmed I was covered and filled all my meds. I recommend them highly.
