why don't they just close off the north side of 34th avenue instead of both ways?  just allow one way flow of traffic while still maintaining open streets on the other half of the block.  i like open streets but making it permanent is a bit much imho.  make it from 8-6 - there' no reason it should extend to 8pm every night.  there's a huge park right there to hang.

i've noticed a group of teens riding their bikes, doing tricks up an down 78th street between 34th and 35th avenue.

that block has little traffic due to 34th ave being closed so they are racing quite recklessly down the block (going the wrong) way.  i saw one almost hitting a car that was coming up the block.

is there anything that can be done about it?

the counter argument is that if traffic on 35th stays bad or becomes worse, then drivers will try to avoid coming into the area.

did her brief sirens about 5 mins after.
