Biden is like a dead fish

Sanders will win. Mayor Mike is trying to buy his way in but I believe he will fail given the left has taken control of the Democrat party.

Soon the new maps will come out and mass transit will almost eliminate bus services.

Here we go again. The city creates unprotected bike lanes and tells people to bike to work. Many cyclists die and the city wonders why. Now it blames the trucks (which have been around for decades). These cyclists along with the high speed electric bikes are basically going around ignoring most rules of the road. They often refuse to wear helmets.

Only protected dedicated bike lanes will lower the death rate.

Neighborhood Chat / Re: 73rd St between 37 Av and Roosevelt Ave

Dromm has prohibited trash cans on 37th ave at 73rd and 74th Streets claiming residents were dumping their house trash. So now the litter goes onto the sidewalk and catch basins that are full of garbage. When it rains heavily these catch basins drain slowly and allow trash to enter the sewer pipes. In the summer these catch basins are also the source of the rancid smell often associated with the streets. The street vendor’s customers also throw the garbage on the ground or tree pits. Street vendors unlike regular restaurants do not have to pay commercial garbage service.

And all this impeachment will soon end in acquittal on Wednesday. Well that was all a big waste of time. When Bernie finally wins the nomination, Trump will steam roll him up in November. It will be the most entertaining election.

The DOT will never close down Northern Blvd. to traffic. It is along with Astoria Blvd  a major east west route. When the highway has traffic it is the only major road.

Exactly, now that he is out of the picture, the MTA will implement service cuts without having an actual person responsible. Also there is the new committee looking to economically divide Queens from Manhattan by imposing the new “congestion pricing” that will impose a tale of two cities solution to traffic. I believe that Queens dollars will stay in Jackson Heights and other neighborhoods near Manhattan when many people vote with their feet to eat and drink locally.  I predict many businesses in Manhattan will close six months after the plan is implemented.

It seems the MTA continues to not follow federal law. How does this make sense in light of the new plan to have busses only stop at one non compliant station?

How can our elected officials allow this to occur?

He is probably tired being blamed for a system that is falling apart, cost overruns on repairs, faulty equipment, and the new bus elimination scheme. The MTA is looking to cut costs by eliminating service to politically disenfranchised neighborhoods. Look at the outrageous meetings he just went to.

Also 37th Ave between 74 and 73 is out of control. Some also goes onto 74th street. It seems there is zero enforcement of illegal vendors.

Is the best way to address this to release crazy maps calling to eliminate bus lines and have people show up in a panic? It seems cruel to me.

People may not like my political viewpoint but the only way you could devise this idiotic bus plan would be have some sinister agenda IMHO. There has to be some motive to cut service to a entire community that has relied on this bus service. It is not just an accident.

The MTA members of appointed by the NYS Governor and by the Mayor. They are political appointees. I believe the the squeaky wheel gets the grease and that many in our community don’t have even a voice or a vote to give. When bus routes are changed they will be winners and losers. These routes will be decided by back room deals that we voters will have no control over.

The MTA is cutting service in less gentrified communities in order to add service and renovations to mass transit in LIC and Astoria. The buses here are packed with immigrants whose may not be lawfully present in the US and can’t vote.

I don’t think the need for protected bike lanes has anything to do with these new bus routes. Obviously everyone wants to go to 74th street station in the morning. The Q33 going to Queens Center mall is absurd.
