Neighborhood Chat / Re: Maram closing?
« on: September 07, 2013, 10:30:08 PM »
I believe that up until a few years ago some chain pharmacies were selling
"anonymous" bundles of customer records to marketing groups who would then target the consumer with this information. This is no longer legal (not what Maram did) just mentioning what some pharmacies used to practice. It could simply be that refills are on file at Rite Aid (which is a major convenience for some people) a sick or unwell elderly person does not want to lose their refills and have to go to back to the doctor or deal with insurance info again which can be confusing. However, some people have their reasons to not want that information accessible at every pharmacy within their network and even larger databases. The ability to opt out should be respected by rite-aid.

I loved Maram but I think it is total BS that Rite Aid purchased customer's prescription information and possible insurance history. Customers should be given the opportunity to opt out of this transfer of what most people believe to be confidential information.

Neighborhood Chat / Re: BEWARE!! There's a CREEP on the loose!

Today, I was walking my dog a little past 4:30pm between Roosevelt Ave to 37th Ave on 79th Street. There was a male hispanic man in a baseball cap, hoodie (grayish black), blue jeans masterbating in front of a white suv for sale!

So wait... I am a little confused. This sounds pretty close to the post office. By saying this "male hispanic man" did you mean to say he was a hispanic mailman? That is really gross. Imagine buying that white SUV and having this same dude reach into his maleman sack everyday and touch your mail.

Sorry you had to witness this!

I was told from someone at MPC Properties that they were looking into using the space as a street level real estate office. I suppose so they can paste their listings on the windows. I don't know how much they were/are considering that.  Maybe they plan to use it as a staging point to kidnap the occasional 92 year old JH resident  gone out to buy cat food...  and put their 3 Bedroom co-op on the market.
