Neighborhood Chat / Parasitic cab drivers by the bus terminal

When I occasionally take a bus at the 75Th street terminal I see gypsy cabs blocking the bus lanes,honking at prospective passengers,soliciting people who are just walking, making illegal u-turns so they are in front of the terminal and when the TLC or cops come they scatter like cockroaches. I think TLC inspectors should be stationed there permanently. Many of these so called cabs have no license and don't even have NY plates.

Does anyone remember seeing Led Zep,Pink Floyd,The Doors and other rock movies there at midnight in the 1970'S? These were the good old days when you could smoke pot or cigarettes and nobody would say anything. I remember not being able to see the guy's head in front of me because of the smoke from the bongs,gas masks,
pipes and cigarettes. How times have changed!

Many years ago there were benches outside the post office on 37th ave. It was a nice place to sit and people-watch. Is there any way to get them back?
