Here's the link to the retail site describing this cool little camera: http://store.theflip.com/en-us/products/MinoHD4GB1HR.aspx

I'm selling this 4GB model [records a full hour of HD video; syncs to your computer for offloading] now that I have an iPad. It has been used very little and is in perfect condition. I'm including a great belt-clip carrying case for it, too.

The camera retails for $80. I'm letting it go for $40.

Kindly reply to this message if you're interested in grabbing it.

I'm at 35th Ave / 75th St. here in J.H.

Neighborhood Chat / Tai Chi classes have begun!
« on: February 16, 2011, 09:21:40 AM »

Saturday, Feb. 12 was our first Tai Chi class with master instructor Zhou. It was incredible. His teaching style is very hands-on and extremely helpful. Everyone seemed to absorb the instructions well and begin to get a sense of this beautiful, ancient martial art.

Here is a video showing Zhou demonstrating the Yang style long form which we'll be learning. Amazing.

I encourage you all to consider joining this class. It's not too late to pick up the first movements, as we'll be concentrating on them for awhile longer.  Class information is displayed at the end of the video.  Take a look!

Community Trade and Classifieds / TFal Deep Fryer for sale
« on: November 18, 2009, 03:37:06 PM »
This is a great unit.  We're only parting with it because our kitchen is small, and we're trying to downsize.

It's a T-Fal FR7008002 Ultimate EZ Clean Pro-Fryer Stainless-Steel 2-2/3-Pound Deep Fryer.  [This URL shows you the item on Amazon.] http://www.amazon.com/T-Fal-FR7008002-Ultimate-Pro-Fryer-Stainless-Steel/dp/B000AOMA68/ref=sr_1_10?ie=UTF8&s=home-garden&qid=1258576255&sr=8-10

It's one hundred bucks retail, and we're asking $35 for it.  It makes killer french fries! The cooking temps are very accurate, and the whole thing disassembles for easy cleaning.

Drop me a note here on JHLife if you're interested.

Restaurants & Food / Decent Mexican delivery?
« on: March 09, 2009, 12:10:34 PM »
Can any of you gourmands out there in JH-land recommend a decent Mexican restaurant that does delivery? We have a handful of delivery menus at home here, encompassing Indian, Japanese, Chinese, Italian, and Columbian. But no Mexican at all.

Suggestions?

Joe Lunievicz of Rolling Oms Yoga http://web.mac.com/rollingoms is maintaining a list of prospective students for an Absolute Beginners Class to be held Saturday mornings or afternoons at the Garden School.

He needs at least ten students to launch the class, and has six prospects on the list at present.

If you have any interest at all in taking up yoga, this is the perfect opportunity.  Visit the Rolling Oms website, or contact Joe directly at rollingoms@mac.com.

Classes can start up in February!

Neighborhood Chat / JH Cast Of Characters
« on: May 26, 2008, 10:50:09 AM »
Wasn't there a thread here awhile back discussing people you'd recognize on the street? For instance, the war vet in the wheelchair on 37th Ave between 76th & 77th.  The green-bearded gentleman in faerie garb who bicycles about the area.

My current fave: the very diminutive, elegant, elderly Caucasian woman, always in a head scarf and bright red wool coat [no matter how warm it is outside] and her statuesque, attractive, African-American companion, always dressed to the nines.

My partner and I have taken to referring to this pair as Miss Prim and Ms. Fierce.   :)
