I've been following COMPSTAT NYC for a long time. I lived in JH in the 80s when the citywide homicide rate was > 2,000. Last year it was 360 or so, and year to date down another 30%, which is very impressive.

However when I look at COMPSTAT for the 115 pct I see no homicides listed for 2015, when I know for a fact there was the murder of an elderly woman on 76/35 in early September last year.

Is that sufficient to cast doubt on these stats or does anyone know of a good reason why that woman's murder has not been categorized as such?

Took a photo of cab brazenly driving through red light on 35/77 shortly after 1pm yesterday. Can't upload to site - says file too large. License plate is clearly visible. There was a police car parked a few blocks on however they said they can't do anything unless they observe the situation themselves.

Do people think this behavior is getting worse here? That's the second red light runner I saw yesterday, first was at 76/37.

My son and daughter in law are visiting for Christmas. We need a better pull out bed. The Ikea we have is lumpy and uncomfortable.

Does anyone have any good suggestions?
