A man was beating the hell out of a woman outside my home in his car. She was screaming and crying. We called the police and yelled at him to stop and told her to get out of the car. He threw her out of the car while driving. She stumbled into the street with her belongings. He drove off. A fellow neighbor was talking to her. She apparently got into an Uber and it's been close to 40 minutes and the police still have not showed up. What if they were still fighting? My son wanted to go help but I was afraid the man might have had a weapon. Are we suppose to sit by and watch people be assaulted and the police do not show up?

For quite a while now, we have been receiving packages to our home (we own and have no tenants) with different names. We usually call the number on the front of the package and the person who it was addressed to comes to retrieve it. One woman had three large gap orders three days in a row shipped to our house. We thought we were being neighborly by calling/tracking them etc. Lately it's becoming more and more frequent. We also noticed our neighbor's (both now deceased) home receiving packages with different names and their address. At first I thought it was a mistake on the shippers end but after receiving yet another package yesterday, realize that there has to be more to this. I googled and found some articles stating that scammers now use stolen credit cards and ship packages to different addresses and retrieve them there. Has this happened to anyone else? From now on I am going to call the company who delivered and asked what address was used to make the purchase. I don't want to be a unsuspecting middleman to a crime!

Restaurants & Food / Vegans, where do you shop or order from locally??

I've been a lifelong vegetarian and vegan for several years and buy some items here and there in the neighborhood but for the most part, I go into Manhattan or Astoria for vegan takeout and or groceries. Today I am feeling under the weather and was thinking  I would love some spicy soup. I tried several places on Northern and nobody has options. Black thai refused to make me anything without fish sauce saying that's how it comes.  Anyone have any places they order from locally?

Pets and Animals / Temporary dog walker needed for senior in Woodside urgent!!!

A Senior living in woodside (near queens blvd/69 street) is having wrist surgery this Thursday. She fell off a ladder shattering her wrist. This will be her second surgery. She had her neighbors son helping but he is going back to school. She needs someone a few times a day for quick short walks. She will walk with you and the dog but cannot physically hold the leash.  The dog is about 80lbs boxer mix. She is very friendly towards humans but not other dogs or cats. Does anyone know of anyone to help her??? Thanks.

East star Chinese on Northern blvd between 81st/80st just closed abruptly. While not the greatest, they were close to us and had inexpensive lunch specials. They seemed to be busy all the time. Anyone know of what might have happened?

Very excited that we now have a vegan vendor at the farmers market!! I believe all items are also gluten free. He said today was his first day. Hoping he brings more options next week!!

This morning 79 street was cordoned off and there were multiple police cars. I checked the citizen app and it stated that there was a possible suicide. Anyone hear anything?

It happened on 83rd and 34th avenue. I've been hearing conflicting stories. Some say he jumped and others  are saying he was thrown. Very sad and disturbing!!

Pets and Animals / Two dogs found. One deceased!!

A white poodle was found deceased by the road on 32nd Ave between 74/75 Street. Pink collar and rabies tags approx. 15 lbs or so. Another black dog was found tied to a pole on northern blvd.  You can DM me or refer to the Queens Lost and found pets page on facebook. Thanks

Today as I was waiting for the bus they were digging with a huge drill that looked like it weighed a thousand pounds. The  noise was deafening. I complained to some MTA employees who were nearby in their car and left. My ears are still ringing. How are they allowed to do this with people right there? They should of closed off the whole area. I've never heard noise so loud in my life!! I don't think 311 takes complaints over construction noise. Who would you complain to?
