Infant and Preschool Aquatics: Tiny Tadpoles

Tiny Tadpoles swim Program will be held this summer at Garden School’s outdoor pool in Jackson Heights. The pool is located on 78th street between 34th Ave and Northern Blvd. A teacher with over 12 years experience teaches this American Red Cross Program.  The ½ hour class will run for 8 consecutive weeks.


2008 Class schedule:

Mondays July 7, 14, 21, 28 Aug. 4, 11, 18, 25
4:00-4:30 (6 months-2 years)
4:30-5:00 (2 years-5 years)
or
Thursdays July 10, 17, 24, 31 Aug 7, 14, 21, 28
4:00-4:30 (6 months-2 years)
4:30-5:00 (2-5years)
or
Saturday July 12, 19, 26, Aug. 2, 9,16, 23
9:00-9:30 (2 years-5 years)
9:30-10:00 (6 months-2 years)
10:00-10:30 (mixed ages)


Rain dates will be scheduled as needed.  The fee for the 8 classes is $260.
(If you register for Saturdays you take your 8th class on any Monday or Thursday since there are only 7 Saturdays available.)

 Infant and Preschool Aquatics
Children have a positive early experience in the pool.  Class builds swimming readiness by emphasizing fun in the water.  A parent or responsible adult must accompany the child in the water at all times.  Children must wear a swimming diaper (fully toilet-trained children are exempt)

Tadpoles should:
 Arrive 5-10 minutes early
Bring a swimsuit and towel
Not eat 30-45 minutes before swim class
Bring an adult

Margaret you should mention that "MEN" are not allowed with their children Only "MOMs"

Uh, no.  I took my son to this class last summer, as did many other dads.

please let me know if this is the case because we were told the women do NOT feel comfortable with a man in the pool which I thought was rather odd. we did not sign our children up because of this and are looking into somewhere else

To clarify, men are welcome. There have been tons of dads that have participated over the years.  I don't know who told you that information. I  used the term "mommy and me" simple to indicate that an adult must accompany the child in the water.  The term must have caused some confusion.  Sorry about that. 

The class is a Red Cross Infant/ preschool aquatics class.  Dads, grandpas, moms, grandmas, care givers of all genders are welcomed.

2010 schedule
Thursdays @ 4:30 and 5:00pm July 8, 15, 22, 29, Aug. 5, 12, 19
The 4:30 class is for 6 months-2 years.
The 5:00 class is for 2-4 years.

Saturdays @ 10:00, 10:30am and 11:00 July 10, 17, 24, 31 Aug. 7, 14, 21
 The 10:00am class is for 6 months-2 years
The 10:30am class is for 2-4 years.
The 11:00am class is for 2-4 years.
