JH SCRAPS, our new community composting center, is holding it's first Earth Day
celebration on April 20th from 12-4pm. Come see what they are doing with your
food scraps that are collected on SATURDAYS (11-1) at Travers Park. There will
be worm bins, seed bomb making for guerilla gardening and a place to make
recycled pots from newspaper for your new seedlings. See the projects this group
is working on to make this spot our local environmental center.
The site is located in from the corner of 35th Avenue and 69th street* and slightly
under the highway. Look for the JHSCRAPS banner. Sponsored by the wonderful
Jackson Heights Beautification Group.
