it's not bad at all. a little "modern" and non-traditional -- sort of like a pizzeria that dishes up lots of unconventional toppings. i tend to prefer standard banh mi sandwiches, but there are some interesting ones here. i think i had a bulgogi one on a visit back in november or so. they serve good coffee, as well.

I love this place!  I am not an expert, but modern or not these sandwiches are good!

Agree with Liz. We love this place too. Feeds the whole fandamily pretty well for not much $$. Special desserts are great too. Only wish it was closer...

I've been there a couple of times.

Their eponymous bahn mi -  the JoJu - a classic with extra pork..... is outstanding. 8/10
Their lemongrass chicken is tasty   7/10
The pork belly is pretty damn fatty.  5/10

Cafe sua da is very good, made with cafe du monde  7/10 ( not _quite_ thick and bittersweet enough for me, but WAY better than the local vietnamese place in the mall  - pho bac, who served me an insipid cafe sua da. haven't tried the pho bang place in same mall.)

Bread is crunchy with a little give like all good french baguettes should be. They don't stint on the pickled carrots or radishes or cucumbers.

I'm a bit of a bahn mi  addict. Their classic would stand up to any in chinatown and a lot in LA.

They're really nice & friendly and have a loyalty card.

Highly recommended overall.

This place is absolutely great for Bahn mi and they do a service to the community by allowing so many young people to hangout there and share the specialty fries. :-*

Super good. Love the bowls. They used to deliver to JH through caviar but no longer do
