In Sunnyside today on the north side of Queens Blvd around 44th / 45th Sts I saw a few signs on restaurants that said "beer garden open."  Anyone know of any really nice ones there?  Guess I could check yelp.

A new 18,000 sq ft beer garden is supposed to open in LIC in May.

I walked by Cafe La Nueva earlier today and noticed their outdoor seating along the sidewalk.  Have they had this the entire summer?  It's the first time I've seen it, and would like to have enjoyed it during the summer months.

I know Cafe Nueva had a sidewalk cafe application in the works.

I guess it was granted, making it the 3rd LEGAL sidewalk cafe in Jackson Heights.

The other two are:
1) Armondos
2) Cositas Ricas

I emphasize LEGAL, because there are quite a few illegal sidewalk cafes, or illegal outdoor seating.

What are the city regulations on placing benches in front of restaurants or cafes? The one in front of E77 is great. Plaka has true outdoor seating and there is also a cafe on Northern that has a table or two.

I went to Tortilleria Nixtamal over the weekend and they had two cozy outdoor seating areas.  One is in front with a few tall cafe tables facing the sidewalk.  The other area is on the side -- kind of a side garden (but no greenery).  I was checking out photos of Jeffsayyes's JH Food Group and saw that when they were there, they sat in the garden.

Where in Corona is the tortilleria?

Is Cafe Nueva actually outdoor sidewalk seating, or is it enclosed like Armondos? I haven't walked by there in a few weeks.

Tortilleria Nixtamal is just around the corner from the cute block with the well-known Leo's Latticini (aka Mama's of Corona) http://www.bridgeandtunnelclub.com/bigmap/queens/corona/leos/index.htm

The seating was alfresco, although I'm sure the seating will be removed once the weather cools off.
