Free world premiere music concert: Jackson Heights Suite

Free world premiere music concert: Jackson Heights Suite is an original musical chamber work, composed by Emiliano Valerio, 2011 Queens Council on the Arts Grant Winner!  The Suite, dedicated to the neighborhood of Jackson Heights, Queens, draws on the traditions of Indian Classical, Latin Jazz and Western Classical musics.  Musicians include:  Steve Gorn (Bansuri/Sax), Emiliano Valerio (Congas, Cajón & Tabla) and members of the Mivos String Quartet: Joshua Modney (Violin), Victor Lowrie (Viola), and Isabel Castelvi (Cello).  Funded by Queens Council on the Arts, the performance is free and open to the public.

Date: Friday, September 23, 2011
Time: 7:30 PM - 8:30 PM
Location: Renaissance Charter School (35-59 81st St., Jackson Heights, NY 11372)
Closest Subway stop is on the 7 train at 82nd St stop.  The school is two blocks away.

Please help spread the word about this.   What a great honor for the neighborhood to be the focus of such an interesting creative work!
