Window repair for the home.

One of my upstairs double pane vinyl windows doesn't stay up, I have a metal rod wedged in place to keep the window up
Anybody ever use window guy corp on 77th St/Woodside Ave? The windows are 12 years old but this is the
only window in the house that I am having a problem with. Any recommendations? thanks

Well I can cross off Window Guy Corp off my list, I passed by there and the awning with their
name on it was removed, through the opening of the steel gates I could see a display of
some windows but when I called over the phone I got a message that this number is no longer in service.

I have fixed window screens before but windows are a bit more complicated.

Finally got it done yesterday, took the window mechanic no more then 15 minutes, the window
opens and closes without a problem. No more propping up the window with a stick
and having it fall during the winter, no more drafts either. I should have done this a long time ago.

Replaced balances top and bottom sash, $120.00 with a 1 yr warranty. If I had to buy 2 new windows
it would have easily cost me around $400.00. Repair or replace, you have to really compare the costs.

If your windows are only 12 years old, then they are probably decent double pane windows. The only times I'd ever replace windows is if they are really old and single pane. I know my last house had windows on it that were 50 years old. They were drafty and never kept the heat or cold air from getting into the house.

Yes, that is true. Drafty windows in the winter increases your heating bills dramatically.
Out of all the windows in my home I really only open just a few.
I went ahead anyway and lubricated the cords with silicone spray on each side of my
windows so they open and close without any problems.
