Pollo Inka - Peruvian
« on: April 03, 2011, 09:33:08 PM »
As I was travelling down Northern Blvd in a car, I noticed a new Peruvian place called Pollo Inka on the same block as Pizza Sam, which I think is between 87th and 88th.  It looked like it had nice decor, though it was hard to see much from the street.

I searched online for Pollo Inka and there is one with the same name in Forest Hills that gets very good ratings on yelp.  I'm not sure it's the same place. http://www.yelp.com/biz/el-pollo-inka-peru-forest-hills

If anyone checks it out, please report back!

I walked past again today and the menu mentions that they also have locations in Ozone Park and Forest Hills, so I think the above yelp reviews should give some indication of how this place is.

If anyone tries it, let us know.  :)

Delicious Chicken and green sauce!  We had the avocado salad and the potatoes with yellow sauce were great.
Much better chicken than the fancier Peruvian place up the street.

Pollo Inka is located at 8912 Northern Blvd.  The food is awesome.  The restaurant was crowded.  I ordered and took home the Salmon Al Ajonjoli (Salmon with mashed potato and orange sauce).  It's only $15.00.  Jackson Heights has many, many 4 Star Restaurants.

I probably go to this restaurant once every 2 weeks! I kind of like that's it's still a hidden gem, and that everyone keeps going to Pio Pio for overpriced food (and excessively salty might I add), as well as the smallest pitcher of sangria for $30! Ridiculous.... Pollo Inka is awesome! So glad this restaurant is only 2 blocks from my house  ;D

Definitely do try it! I also believe there is a back area in the restaurant that will open up in the spring to dine outdoors! I'm especially looking forward to that  :)

Pollo Inka Peruvian Restaurant Northern Blvd and 90th

It appears that El Pollo Inka Peruvian restaurant was closed Friday
The notice indicates that this is due to selling and warehousing alcohol
Such a shame , best restaurant in this neck of the woods
Personally never had alcohol there.

:(

I finally got a chance to try this place.  Excellent chicken!  Not too salty (one of my pet peeves about takeout/restaurant food in general).  We dined in and got the $20 combo, which was a whole chicken, avocado salad, rice and french fries.  They appear to do quite a bit of takeout/delivery as well.
