Reviving this thread because these guys were making the rounds in my building this evening. I have a feeling there will be an uptick now that we're approaching Summer (under the guise of electric bills higher b/c of air conditioning).

One of these guys came to my building last week. Wife got the intercom and was unfamiliar with the scam. But the guy was so rude to her that she got actually scared. What did she do? Called the police.

Later on the police called her back to tell the guys were just an energy seller. Still, if we make them give that sort of explanation to the police frequently, maybe they will behave better. Maybe. Maybe not.

These people are scum preying on the vulnerable.

If you get buzzed into a building to go to one apartment, you may NOT go door to door harassing residents.

Call the police. Report them as trespassers and threatening. They ARE trespassers! I was threatened by them when I told them to leave or I would call the police.
