My friend was checking the online records of property ownership and she said Duane Reade was listed as the owner.  I don't know, maybe she saw Rite Aid and misremembered it.

I'd be happy with the addition of a Duane Reade because that Rite Aid on 82nd Street smells like feces and the cashiers are idiots.

Diva Im glad you said this because my husband thinks im nuts. I said it smelled like sewer!!! They never seem to stock anything either. I use to go to the one on northern but don't get up that way often. I loved when this place was genovese. I didn't like the previous duane reade because the  cashiers and manager were very rude and they only had one race working there- like the one on 37 th ave and I just love when they follow me around the whole store!!!

I love the pharmacists at the 82nd Street Rite Aid. The pretty Eastern European girl gives my dog 20% off of his meds because she's a sweetheart. But I never buy anything through the front - I don't like waiting behind ladies who buy five bags of potato chips and want to pay for each one separately.

I like how Duane Reade is trying to evolve itself, to something similar to Boots in the UK. Too bad everyone wants to cut in line at the 37th Street one.

DS what does it matter ? I said it and I meant it. The whole store- every single employee was one race. They were also extremely rude and did not want to take coupons and followed me around etc etc. Does it matter if they were XYZ? I am not playing the "I am predjudice game" with you. For all you know they could have been my race!!

i'll presume they were all icelandic...which is one of the area's more annoying ethnic groups.

and clearly, EVERYONE complains when they walk into an establishment staffed wntirely by members of their own race.


that's why i hate venturing out to get tax free cigarettes....or cemitas....i forget which....

There will be another Walgreens opening, like we another chainstore in JH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Its BS  I recently saw an old picture of JH with nice Shops and I kinda wish that we still had small mom and pop shops as oppossed to this chain stores.

Sorry Tony, I'm a little confused,is it A. OK or B. not OK to "wish" for something in this neighborhood?
