Criminal in Jackson Hts

Anyone out there remember Eddie "Snakes" Ryan or his family? The  NY Times reported that he was living with his married sister in 35-35 75th St. He was killed in a shootout with a cop in the Bronx in August 1953, a year or two after he was released from Sing Sing. I am looking for any info about him or his family.
