Reducing energy costs and dealing with the icky issue of bedbugs will be the topics at the March 4 Federation of New York Housing Cooperatives and Condominiums seminar for co-op and condo board-members and managers.

Scheduled for Tuesday, March 4, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Sovereign Bank in the Bay Terrace Shopping Center (23-56 Bell Boulevard), in Bayside, Queens, the free seminar, co-sponsored by Sovereign, includes a light supper. Reservations are required, at (718) 423-4438.

Addressing the most costly item in a building's budget after the underlying mortgage, Robert Welch of the Hess Corporation and William Cannon of Tradition Energy will offer cost-saving suggestions in "Controlling Energy Costs and Utility Consumption."

Ken Unger and Mel Land of Suburban Pest Control will have information on how to deal with a growing problem in the New York City area, outbreaks of bedbug infestation.

The FNYHC is a 53-year-old membership organization dedicated to the education and preservation of co-ops and condominiums in New York State. The groups holds seminars and educational meetings, monitors court decisions and local, state and federal legislations, and publishes a newsletter.
