Portable Electronic Anti-Theft Registration
« on: February 06, 2008, 09:35:48 PM »
Did you get a card in the mail about an "engraving night" next Tuesday night at Espresso 77?

The card reads:

Dear Friend:

Did you get a new MP3 player, cell phone or laptop computer this recent holiday season?  Bring it or any other portable electronic device to the Espresso 77 coffee shop in Jackson Heights to have it registered with the NYPD 115th Precinct's Crime Prevention Unit.  Officer Lisa Cordero will engrave a serial number onto your device to help track and retrieve it if it gets stolen or lost.

This free event is part of my ongoing effort to bring you government services that are practical and useful.  If you have any questions, feel free to contact my office at 718.639.8469.

Sincerely,

John D. Sabini
Senator
