Yes I called her also.  Daniel Dromm's office is very efficient.  They got on that right away.

Hopefully those three cats will have a long and good life.

It's nice to see so many caring people out there and it's also great to hear that the owners of these cats have been looking after them all the while.  Maybe some were quick to judge here but it was all done out of concern.

CRABBYPATTY,

A quick read back in the thread would have led you to this comment from dssjh...:

looks like Daniel Dromm and his office DO listen and act  :smitten:

Hello:

I write to confirm to you that three cats have been removed from the Don Francisco butcher shop.  Council Member Dromm’s and Assemblyman DenDekker’s office both reached out to the 115 Pct for assistance.  Their Community Affairs Office contacted the owner of the butcher shop and asked that the cats be removed from the premises.  FYI the owner stated he was feeding and caring for the cats on a daily basis since the closing of the butcher shop.  The Community Affairs Officer told the owner that the cats presence in an empty storefront upset the community because it was assumed the cats were abandoned when the store closed.    If you can kindly post this information to the Jackson Heights Life community it would be most appreciated.

Thank you for pointing that out divanatrix and we now can breath a sign of relief knowing that the butcher was not a animal abuser after all!  We must be careful not to be so quick to judge.

This is very good news.  And it is good news that everyone in the neighborhood was concerned about the kitties.  Yes, I too wish the kitties well.  Everyone has done everything that they could do.

It's good that the owner is taking them home (?) but my whole thing is who would leave the cats in an empty store from the get-go? Someone who loves their animal? Or someone who just had them around to catch mice ...
