Jackson Heights Dog Park
« on: December 24, 2009, 07:48:56 PM »
A present under the tree!!

NYS Dept of Transportation has notified the Jackson Heights Beautification Group (JHBG) that we are good to go!!!!

We need to schedule a meeting with JHBG to go over some parameters and to present a plan for our care of the park.

Anyone available next week? Let me know availability and I'll arrange a meeting. In the meantime, jot down your ideas on how to run the park.

Santa came through for the dogs!!

My husband and I had been working on this project for a while... we are glad to have the JHBG to help.

We still want to be involved so let us know when and where...

I'm happy to see the neighborhood get a dog park, but I can't help but think a huge opportunity was missed in not building it at Travers. What percentage of the neighborhood will regularly take its dogs to 69th street, the western-most boundary of JH?

Since the long walk to 69th street from the mid-80s prohibits me from taking my dog to the park except on weekends, I might as well drive over on Saturdays to the very large and well-kept Hillside park in Brooklyn.
