So now I guess our next chapter is to determine what's going to replace the original ABC location.

O.K., so I think my mom may be the only person I know of that's actually excited about the news of ABC Discount getting a larger space.  She actually likes shopping there and says that there are many bargains to be had.  I tend to believe her given the fact that the place is always jumping!  She's always buying us stuff, and just now I'm finding out that husband and I and doggie have benefited from ABC merchandise!   :2funny:

Idea for ABC replacement
« Reply #63 on: March 01, 2008, 05:36:51 PM »
I think a Wendy's would be great.  Its much better quality fast food from Burger King & McDonalds & the ABC Store would make for a good size one.

The ABC replacement is ABC. Spoke to one of the construction workers today, and it seems they are not vacating the original location.

If the ABC Store is staying where it is, then is there going to be two of them?  Someone on this board said they signed a 13 year lease for the Duane Reade site.

I noticed last weekend, but forgot to post, that the new location of ABC Discount is now open.  And both locations appeared to be doing very good business.   I couldn't tell from the outside how they intend to differentiate their two stores on 82nd Street.

Hopefully, now that they have more floor space, they will relax their "no strollers" rule.
