Many thanks. I knew he was from Dublin, being a bird of a feather, or as they in Dublin, a burd of a fedder.  ;)

Very kind. Well now, I'd be glad to stand you a pint or ten for a good result here!

I believe the Liffey bar was the first place in Queens to serve Guinness on tap

At one time it was the only place in the USA that did

Sorry it took so long, but my buddy's father was in Ireland . Yes Tommy is still alive, he lives in New Jersey. Near where his daughters live. He's doing fine.

There used to be a newspaper about the Liffey on one of the walls there.  I remember a part of the article that told of a frequent visitor to NYC who would hop off his plane in Laguardia, bus it to the Victor Moore Arcade, and walk the block to the Liffey for his Guinness, because it was one of the only places, if not the only place in the US that poured it at the time.

  Up Tom!  Up Joe!

Yeah it was the only place in North America that served  Guinness on tap.  Joe still lives in Jackson Heights

Hi this is Maureen...Tommy's daughter.  Living in Ireland now...Dad is here visiting and was thrilled to see people still ask about him.  Of course the Liffey has never replaced and no one can ever pull a pint like my dad could!!

Maureen, thanks for letting us know!  Your dad sounds like a neat guy.
