Wow - thank you so much for this thread. My grandmother was a waitress at North Beach. I never knew her, but seeing these pictures and checking the links is a wonderful connection with her.

I live in East Elmhurst, and I always wondered why it was called EE for the fact that we not even close to Elmhurst! I love the name North Beach more. We need a name change!

I agree with you. It should be either North Beach or Trainsmeadow,N.Y. not east elmhurst. I'm an a retired letter carrier who worked at the jackson heights p.o. & also east elm.
