Sneak Preview - Letters For Julio

Monday June 8th Join us for Letters for Julio

Presented by: Queens Lesbian and Gay Pride Committee with support from the Queens Council on the Arts and the Jewish Center of Jackson Heights

A sneak preview of a documentary (in production) about the Queens Lesbian and Gay Pride Parade and the life and death
of Julio Rivera.

Local filmmaker and photographer Richard Shpuntoff presents, for the first time, material from his forthcoming documentary film including photographs from the first ten years of the parade, film footage of the parade from 2001 to 2008, and interviews with key figures. Letters for Julio is a personal portrait of Jackson Heights centering on the brutal 1990 murder of Julio Rivera in the PS 69 schoolyard and the birth and life of the Queens Pride Parade.
