Tree disposal

How do you all dispose of your trees?  We're new to a co-op building and are unsure of where to leave it.  Thanks!

We've been instructed by our superintendent to take the trees down to the curb by the designated garbage area.  Our super usually informs the residents ahead of time of the official pick-up day by the Sanitation Department for recycling purposes.  No bagged trees.

The Park's Department also holds an annual Mulchfest.  I believe Travers Park may be a designated location where people can drop off their trees for chipping.  More info here:

The following are two options for recycling your holiday tree:

1. The NYC Dept of Sanitation is picking up trees curbside from Jan 3 through Jan 16 for
citywide composting. The compost will be used for city trees, parks, etc.
