Has anyone noticed / heard helicopers for the past few nights. Anyone know what's up with that.

This has been going on for several nights now and crickets as to why?  I was trying to see if they were police helicopers but couldn't make it out from my vantage point.

Tonight's copter was hovering over an armed burglary scene at 82nd and Roosevelt, according to the app Citizen.

Just curious as to what purpose a hovering helicopter serves? I can understand if there's a fugitive on foot or by car and they are searching for them after the crime. But last night's copter just hovered for 40 minutes over the same spot.
