OK, this one requires a car (or a bit of patience with #7 train/bus connections, and traffic):
Empire Market in College Point, Queens, about five miles from Jackson Heights, has been selling outrageously good organic meat since 1961. (The family-owned store has been in business for 90 years.)

They make their own cold cuts, sausages and the world's greatest frankfurters right there. These people know meat, and it is all organic.

The beef is all grass fed.

Prices: lower than any other organic meat anywhere else.
A bit more pricey than your supermarket, but not that much more at all. And the superb quality & healthfulness is more than worth the ever-so-slight premium.

Their ground beef and chicken tastes (better than) the way meat used to taste, before it got industrialized, unhealthy and bland.

And they're the nicest people you'll ever meet.
