Queens Noir -- Anthologies
« on: December 12, 2007, 09:39:54 PM »
Not sure if anyone posted on this yet to be published series of dark stories based in Queens.  From looking at the table of contents, it looks like there will be a story dedicated to Jackson Heights.

It sounds like it will make an interesting, albeit scary read.  Looking forward to reading it.

I just got a copy of  this and have read about 4 of the stories so far. They have all been really good.
This is part of a series of Noir from different parts of NYC and different cities.

This Times Ledger article has more of a description of the book, plus a more complete schedule of the authors' schedule of appearances.

I love these stories!  As a Queens resident that's familiar with most of the locations covered in the book, I can truly visualize the narrative.  Definitely a fun read for those that enjoy this genre.  So far I've read about 5 of the stories, and I can't wait to read the one dedicated to Jackson Heights.  I hate reading ahead, so I'll just have to be patient.  In the meantime, I've learned to appreciate the literal meaning of the term "die hard fan".  Those that are reading Queens Noir will know what I'm talking about. ;)
